About Gous Induction Shrink Fit Machines

Gous shrink fit machines use electric induction to heat shrink fit tool holders, expanding the metal and allowing a tool to be inserted into the tool holder. These machines are used to properly heat and cool the toolholders quickly, reducing the time needed to change cutting tools, and ensuring the tool holders are evenly heated and not overheated.

The head unit contains both an induction heating coil and circular air outlet for cooling air. By twisting the handle, the head unit can be easily moved up and down, which makes loading cutting tools into shrink fit tool holders fast and easy.

They feature a simple, user-friendly control panel on the front of the machine with buttons to start stop cycles and adjust timers and power settings.

Some tips:

Don't "double" heat tool holders if they heated enough, take it through a full heating and cooling cycle each time
Don't overhang the tooling, frequently incorrect fitting of tools to far out of the holder can produce a shelf in the holder, which stops you from using the full shank under normal conditions.
Recommended for carbide cutting tools only
NEVER use a torch on heat shrink holders

Induction Shrink Fit Machine Features

Rapid Heating

Operation for Inserting Tools

Prepare the tool holder by cleaning the outside and inside, for optimal heating and internal contact
Prepare the cutting tool to be inserted, making sure the shank is clean and free of oils
Program in the correct settings for the given tool holder and diameter of cutting tool to be inserted
Insert tool holder into the shrink fit machine
Lower head unit with heating element over tool holder, leave in place for 6-15sec
When the heating is complete, you will hear a audible "beep"
Raise the head unit
Safely place the cutting tool into the tool holder, being cautious that the tool holder is safety hazard (very hot)
Relower the head unit, and switch on the cooling unit (location to the side)
Once the tool holder is cooled to room temperature, raise the head unit and remove the tool holder with fitted cutting tool

Operation for Removing Tools

Prepare the tool holder by cleaning the outside for optimal heating
Program in the correct settings for the given tool holder and diameter of cutting tool to be removed
Lower head unit with heating element over tool holder, leave in place for 6-15sec
If you have wire grippers, place them onto the cutting tool, but not below the heating element
When the heating is complete, you will hear a audible "beep"
Remove the tool, being mindful that the tool may be hot
Switch on the cooling unit (location to the side)
Once the tool holder is cooled to room temperature, raise the head unit and remove the tool holder
